Asonye J. Ordu was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, but he has been in Texas practically his entire life. He earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice as well as his master’s degree in Community Counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce. After acknowledging his desire and passion to study law, he enrolled in law school and graduated with a Juris Doctorate from UNT Dallas College of Law and has been licensed in Texas since 2019.
Asonye’s legal career began working in workers’ compensation representing claimants in administrative law hearings. After leaving claimant representation, Asonye joined the State of Texas Department of Public Safety’s Administrative License Revocation Division where he further honed his litigation experience and expertise.
Asonye has now joined The Gibson Law Group to focus on the representation of clients in and out of the courtroom with a particular interest in business law and entertainment and sports related law.
In his spare time, Asonye enjoys spending time with his family, attending art shows, going to the movies, and working out when time allows. He is an avid music lover. He enjoys running to mentally decompress and has participated in several 5Ks and 10Ks and one half-marathon.
Asonye’s favorite quote that he lives by day-to-day is “Without Trials, There is No Triumph, and There is No Testimony Without Test.”
